The Company
Since 1988, Nouveau Chamber Ballet has brought exceptional classical ballet performances to audiences throughout Fullerton and Orange County. Established by acclaimed ballerina Lois Ellyn, our nonprofit ballet company celebrates the beauty of dance through traditional ballets, contemporary works, and original choreography.
Under the artistic direction of Sheree King, Nouveau Chamber Ballet provides valuable performance and educational opportunities for pre-professional and professional dancers. In addition, our productions bring together talented choreographers, composers, musicians, artists, and designers to create memorable theatrical experiences.
From beloved holiday traditions like The Nutcracker to innovative contemporary productions, our performances showcase accomplished dancers, beautiful costumes, and captivating storytelling. Through collaborations with Southern California orchestras, ensembles, and guest artists, we continue to enrich the local arts community and inspire audiences of all ages.
Our School
Classical Ballet Training in Fullerton, Orange County
Established in 1956 by Lois Ellyn, Lois Ellyn Ballet Studio is the oldest ballet school in Orange County, offering classical ballet instruction for children, teens, and adults. Located in Fullerton, California, the studio welcomes dancers of all experience levels, from absolute beginners to advanced and pre-professional students.
Our experienced faculty emphasizes strong technique, musicality, artistry, and personal growth in a supportive learning environment. Additionally, students have opportunities to expand their training through pointe classes, private lessons, and specialized workshops.
As the adjunct school of Nouveau Chamber Ballet, Lois Ellyn Ballet Studio also connects dancers with professional-quality performance opportunities, including auditions for The Nutcracker and other ballet productions.
Artistic Director – Sheree King
Sheree King was born in Pittsburgh , Pa. and began dance and baton classes at the age of five. She has a M.A. in Dance from UCLA and is an Associate Professor and Director of the Dance Program at Long Beach City College. She is currently on a year long sabbatical to become certified in GYROKINESIS®. She has performed with Rudy Perez, Momentum Dance Company, UCLA Dance Company, and Nouveau Chamber Ballet.
Her choreography has been presented in many southern California colleges and universities, at International City Theatre, Orange County Choreographer’s Showcase, the Mark Taper Forum, and Nouveau Chamber Ballet. She is also a certified Pilates instructor which she teaches at LBCC and at her home studio. Sheree enjoys traveling to to all parts of the world with her husband, Tom Bozigian, an internationally renowned teacher and choreographer of Armenian dance.
